3Shape’s TRIOS Software release notes, updated on July 20, 2026, describe only three July changes: smoother wake behavior for MOVE Pro, more consistent Oral Health Images, and a fix for a PC-restart issue during scanning. That sounds modest, but together they target reliability at three points that matter in real practice: mobility, image consistency, and session stability.
Not every meaningful software release arrives with a new workflow, a new AI module, or a dramatic launch event.
Sometimes the more revealing update is the one that tells you where the product team is still sanding down friction.
That is the story of 3Shape’s July 2026 TRIOS Software release, whose official notes were updated on July 20, 2026. The July entry is short. It lists:

MOVE Pro is not just a monitor stand. 3Shape positions it as a mobile chairside cart built around an integrated touchscreen, onboard computing, and short battery-backed movement between rooms.
The product’s selling point is not raw scan accuracy. It is chairside fluidity: bring the screen to the patient, keep the consultation visual, and move between operatories without turning the setup into a stop-start ritual.
When 3Shape says July improves the experience when returning from sleep mode, that suggests it is addressing a weak point in that mobility promise.
This matters because MOVE Pro’s value depends on transitions:
- roll to a new room;
- wake the system;
- reconnect cleanly;
- resume scanning or consultation without hesitation.
If wake-from-sleep behavior is slow, unclear, or unreliable, the cart stops feeling like workflow acceleration and starts feeling like workflow negotiation.

That background helps explain why “improved consistency” matters.
The issue is not simply whether an image can be captured. The issue is whether the image output is repeatable enough to support:
- patient communication,
- longitudinal comparison,
- and confidence in image-dependent diagnostic or educational workflows.
3Shape does not say in the July note exactly what inconsistency it corrected. So we should not invent more than the source states.
But a reasonable inference from the documentation is this: as 3Shape leans harder into image-guided and AI-assisted oral-health workflows, variability in image capture becomes more costly than it was in a purely restorative-scanning world.
In other words, this may look like a small image-quality refinement, but it lands in a part of the product stack where consistency increasingly affects the credibility of the platform.
The restart-during-scan fix may be the most important line in the whole update
The third July item is the least glamorous and probably the most important:
Fixed an issue where the PC restarted itself, while scanning.
